Cheaper Shared Rides Arrive at LaGuardia

Travelers at LaGuardia International Airport can now get a shared ride to anywhere in the five boroughs of New York City for $20 or less thanks to a new partnership.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates LaGuardia, is working with ride-sharing app Via to provide low-cost ground transportation from the airport. Now, carpool rides to the Bronx and Staten Island cost $20, and rides to Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn are $15.

A group Amazon warehouse employees, local activists, immigrants, and politicians will protest outside of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos' $80 million New York City penthouse on Cyber Monday.
The protesters are marching against harsh working conditions at Amazon warehouses and say the company has a detrimental impact on the environment and local communities.
Earlier this year, Business Insider spoke with 30 current and former Amazon employees who called their working conditions "brutal."

Catholic schools in New York City have banned boys from wearing their hair in braids, despite city and state laws that ban hair discrimination.
David Bloomfield, a professor of education law at Brooklyn College and CUNY Graduate Center, told the New York Daily News that Catholic schools can opt out of the statutes because of religious freedom caveats.
New York's Dignity for All Students Act said the anti-discrimination law will not "apply to private, religious or denominational educational institutions."
