A coronavirus case reportedly sent JPMorgan bankers home with less than a week before even more employees are set to return to the office

JPMorgan sent an undisclosed number of employees home Tuesday after discovering a positive Covid-19 case among its ranks, according to a recent Bloomberg News report.
A spokesperson told the publication that the bank is “managing individual cases across the firm over the course of the last few months and following appropriate protocols when they occur.”
CEO Jamie Dimon has repeatedly expressed the need for in-person collaboration in recent weeks.

Chinese city near Myanmar border to test all residents after coronavirus cases

The Chinese city of Ruili will test all people there after authorities reported two new coronavirus cases imported from neighboring Myanmar, state media reported late on Monday. Ruili is part of Dehong Prefecture in China's southwestern province of Yunnan. The city asked residents to quarantine at home, according to state television CCTV.

Britain has issued new a travel advisory for China, warning that its nationals may be at risk of arbitrary detention, after several foreigners were held on various charges including cases involving state secrets and national security. “China's authorities have under certain circumstances detained foreigners citing ‘endangering national security',” the British Foreign Office said in its latest advice posted on its website. “There is also a risk of arbitrary detention, including of British Nationals,” it said. Mainland China reports eight new COVID-19 cases versus 10 a day earlier

Mainland China reported eight new COVID-19 cases on Sept. 14, down from 10 cases a day earlier, the country's national health authority said in a statement on Tuesday. The National Health Commission said all new reported cases were imported infections involving travellers from overseas. The commission also reported nine new asymptomatic cases, down from 39 a day earlier. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases now stands at 85,202. The death toll remained unchanged at 4,634.
