With tens of millions of Americans expected to travel for Thanksgiving next week despite spiking COVID-19 infection numbers nationwide, the U.S. Travel Association on Thursday released an update to its guidance for healthy and safe travel-along with a plea for everyone to closely heed recommended best practices if traveling.

Tunisia announces financial aid to revive devastated tourism sector

The second wave of the Covid-19 swept away all hopes of a resumption of travellers' arrivals in the countries deserted by tourists, such as Tunisia where the sector represents about 14 per cent of Tunisian GDP.
The Tunisian government announced this week aid in favour of the sector operators to help them cope with the crisis. The employees of the sector who are technically unemployed will thus receive a monthly allowance of 200 dinars , that is half the SMIG.

Africa surpassed 2 million confirmed COVID-19 cases as second wave looms

The African continent has surpassed 2 million confirmed cases as the top public health official on Thursday warned that “they are inevitably edging toward a second wave” of infections.
The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention said the 54-nation continent had crossed the milestone. Africa has seen more than 48,000 deaths from COVID-19. Its infections and deaths make up less than 4 per cent of the global total.
