Chloe Kim has been dominating the snowboarding world for years.
Kim began snowboarding at four years old, and joined her first team at six.
Kim's father said he signed her up for the team because it was cheaper than getting lessons.
Kim continued her rise from then, all the way to the Pyeongchang Olympics, where she won a gold medal.
On Tuesday at the Winter Olympics , Chloe Kim announced herself as the next star of the games when she dominated the women's halfpipe to win a gold medal .

On Monday, US snowboarder Chloe Kim won the gold medal in the women's halfpipe at the Winter Olympics .
The 17-year-old, who was a heavy medal favorite in Pyeongchang 2018 , secured the gold medal after completing two of three runs.
Kim opted for a third run as a "victory lap."
During the final run, Kim threw down back-to-back 1080s.
According to Refinery29, a 1080 requires a rider to turn around three full times in the air.
Kim became the first woman to land back-to-back 1080s in Olympic history.
Her final run earned her a 98.25 out of 100.
